After severe rains forced rivers to overflow, cutting off towns and villages in southern India, more than 20 people were killed in floods.
Days of torrential rainfall in Kerala’s Kottayam area caused catastrophic landslides, resulting in the flood.
According to Ovanews.xyz, after their vehicle was overwhelmed with floodwater, bus passengers had to be evacuated.
“Indian Air Force medium lift helicopters have been sent to aid with #floodrelief efforts in #Kerala districts affected by heavy rainfall.” India Airforce shared.
Hundreds of individuals have already gone missing, and the death toll is expected to climb.
In several parts of the country, refugee centers have been established while the rescue continues.
