Increase in Cedi to Dollar rate

Early in the month of August, the Ghana cedis shot to an approximate ratio of 6:1 against USD.

Depending on several economic factors including; the Ghana cedis has tried to obtain its previous footing comparing Ghana GHS to USD.

A 6.17% increase is observed from the previous GH₵ 5.67, the new rate is GH₵ 6.02.

Meanwhile, living expenses in Ghana is getting tougher, UTAG in full University Teachers Association of Ghana is on strike.

Salaries of University Teachers and other government workers remain unsustainably low. Fuel prices have increased, continuing students who are unemployed are forced to go home and remain idle while they wait on the end of the strike.
